[New Music Video] Rihanna Gets Arty With "Stay" Visuals

The video for Rihanna's Stay has dropped, and once again the Diva surprises.

If I told you that the visuals consisted solely of Rihanna ruminating in a bath tub, I think you wouldn't be too surprised. Most would think it was only a matter of time before she got it all out on film. But as trashy as the concept sounds, the reality is her actual nakedness is the last thing you focus on; it's the emotional nudity that captures, and holds, the attention.

[Watch] Taylor Swift Opens 2013 Grammy Awards

taylor swift grammy 2013

Taylor Swift had the honour of opening the 2013 Grammy Awards, and turned bejewelled ringmaster to do it! Along with the outfit, she accessorised with a massive troupe of circus performers, who made sure the main stage was never boring to behold. With so much occurring on the stage, as well as everyone dressed in white, it was a small wonder Taylor didn't get lost amongst the rabble! But she did a great job keeping the attention firmly focused on herself.

[Watch] Rihanna Sings "Stay" and Performs In Bob Marley Tribute @ 2013 Grammy Awards

Rihanna 2013 grammys

Rihanna already showed that she could tackle new single Stay solo when she took it to SNL last year [Here]. But yesterday's Grammys saw the beauty shine some light on the album's duetting partner, Mikky Ekko, by bringing him along to perform at the industry's biggest award ceremony.

It was a somewhat muted showing- when compared to others on the night-  with basic staging and simple lighting, but it was pitched perfectly, and sung beautifully. It was definitely an improvement on last year's
We Found Love/Princess Of China medley [Here], anyway!.

[Vocal Profile] Delta Goodrem

Delta Goodrem

Vocal Type: Lyric Soprano
Vocal Range: 3 Octaves notes (D3-D6)
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Delta Goodrem possesses a naturally agile and fulsome soprano voice. Marked by a direct yet rounded and clean tone, the entirety of the range is known to be void of any harshness or crackling in its tone.

The lower end of the range is husky and velvety, whilst still being reasonably audible- a rare feat for most sopranos. This part of the voice is also marked by a darkness in timbre not evident in any other part of the range

The middle section is surprisingly confident and rich, which adds a warmth to the tone, while her distinct intonation marks it as instantly identifiable. Her fourth octave register retains a velvety texture and is well connected to her lower range, ensuring a fluidity right from the bottom to the top.

Goodrem, however, comes into her own with her upper belts and head-voice. This part of the range adds a soft and full penetrating timbre, that is of a healthier quality than that produced in the lower extremes of the voice. Her belts, taken from C5 right up to G5, are robust, clean and delivered by an even and striking vibrato. Of her head-voice, accessed from approx A 5/ B5, it would be classified as warm, illuminating and potent in quality.

Overall, Delta has a strong and characterful voice which traverses its higher regions with what appears to be great ease, all whilst producing a pleasurable and healthy sound throughout the registers (bar the extreme lows). The result is a voice that has both a high standard of musicality and natural raw ability.

Vocal Negatives: Some have described the tone in Delta Goodrem's upper registers to be slightly whiny and immature at times, often as if she is crying in a high tone. Also as the voice is clean of grit and lacking in overt power it has been claimed she is somewhat “boring” to listen to vocally.

[New Music] Leona Lewis And Ricky Hil "Fix Me"

Leona Lewis is serving up something a little different with her guest spot on Ricky Hil's Fix Me. With it's melancholy backing, its dark, brooding atmosphere and lyrics full of sadness and longing, Fix Me isn't exactly what we've come to expect from the X-Factor winner. However it's a style that totally compliments her voice; successfully illustrating just how beautiful it can be away from the soaring belts it's synonymous with.

Vocal Battle: Keyshia Cole vs Michelle Williams

As thrilled as I was to see Michelle Williams hit the stage during Beyonce's Super Bowl half-time show, it seems it wasn't a sentiment shared by everyone.

Surprisingly, the most notable criticism came from fellow Rnb Diva Keyshia Cole. Taking to her Twitter account during the half-time show, the Trust And Believe singer posted this gem; "I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my a** up from my daze! She always f***n the groove up." Ouch.
