2011 MTV Video Music Award Performance reviews: Adele, sounding a little rough, Beyonce lip-synching and Lady Gaga embarrassing!

What a strange and surreal experience this year's MTV Video Music Awards was. I think, in all honestly, at 27 I'm getting a little too old and jaded for this show. However, as there were Divas performing on the bill I had to watch! Below is my review of Adele's, Lady Gaga's and Beyonce's performances from the night. If you haven't seen them yourself, I've posted the videos too, so there is no excuse for not letting me know what you think in the comments.

Amber Riley Covers Adele's "Someone Like you"

As Adele's popularity soars worldwide its unsurprising singers have been clambering to cover the English vocalist's classy tunes. John Legend gave us his, not so great, cover of Rolling in the deep a few weeks back and now Glee actor/singer Amber Riley gives an Adele song a try by covering the already classic Someone like you.

Adele gave another spine-tingling performance of Someone Like You at the Brit Awards yesterday. Adele forfeited any of the fluff and extravagance usually spent on a Brit Award performance, and instead kept it simple with only a piano and some sparkling confetti- that added to the magical feel of the performance- to accompany her bewitching voice.

Adele gives us all an early Christmas present by premièring another song from her as yet unreleased album 21, entitled Someone Like You.
