"The Tonight Show" Welcomes Two Performances from Solange
The Tonight Show saw Solange stop by to perform two cuts from her critically acclaimed album A Seat at the Table.
All in red and serving up art-school realness, the Diva and her unsure backing gave Rise and Weary the live treatment on the night. Yes, there was meaning behind the tethered look, but focus from that was pulled by the awkward harmonies and shoddy implementation of choreography.
Solange sounded good though, and more confident than on her SNL set. Perhaps it's a case of Solo getting used to the new material?

[Music Videos] Solange – "Don’t Touch My Hair" / "Cranes In The Sky"
Solange came through last week with her third ("proper") LP, A Seat at the Table.
Already generating acclaim wherever it goes, it's a body of work that ultimately celebrates the Diva's blackness. A risky topic, it was always going to be controversial for those with thin skin. Solange makes it clear early on that this collection isn't for them and remains unbothered by their precious fweelins'. This singer-songwriter is seeking to uplift her community, without concern for those who might find the message uncomfortable. However, away from the lyrical content, it's surprisingly a chill listen, laced with mid-tempos and gorgeous harmonies.

Beyonce And Solange Get Down Together @ Coachella 2014
Do you have an urge to see Beyonce and Solange work a little choreography together at Coachella 2014? It's kinda cute! To be fair, you're not missing much if you give this video a pass- the sound quality is particularly poor. It's more about the joy on their faces than anything else.
Sisters be doing it fo' themselves...Enjoy.

Beyonce Versus Solange: Whose voice do you prefer?
Juvenile perhaps, but definitely with tongue-in-cheek, I ask the question: Beyonce or Solange Knowles, which is better? In reality, you can like them both, but for the sake of this post imagine there's a metaphorical gun to your head and force yourself to choose!
Solange- Vocal profile/range
Vocal Type: Soprano
Vocal Range: 3 Octaves 1 note D3-E6
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Her lower range has a smoky timbre that is pleasant to the ear. Her chest voice is clear, bright and light. While her head voice is strong and wide, extending past the soprano high C.
Vocal Negatives: The chest voice lacks power, and the tone starts to sound constricted and pushed above a C5.
