Is Sia's tribute to Pulse Victims with "The Greatest" Insensitive?
Fresh off the success of smash hit Cheap Thrills, Sia has returned with a brand new song from her brand new LP We Are Your Children.

Sia's Voice Craps Out During GMA Performance Of "Chandelier"
Sia isn't a confident performer- despite what she projects. The songwriter extraordinaire- who is currently celebrating her first Hot 100 #1 (yay, her)- has even gone as far as to say she hates singing in front of crowds. So why continue to go through the torture of performing at all? Because of the fans, apparently. Bless.
With this understanding, could her MIA vocals during Chandelier at Good Morning America be the fault of nervousness? In the interview that followed the disastrous showing, Sia did reveal she'd been in tears backstage, stressing over hitting the song's textured belts. Clearly something was up.

Rihanna-Rejected "Cheap Thrills" Bags Sia Her First Hot 100 #1
Congratulations are in order for faceless Diva, Sia.
The infectious Cheap Thrills has rocketed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, finally wrestling the crown from Drake's AWFUL (yeah, I said it, come for me, bitches!!) One Dance.

Sia-penned "Sledgehammer" Visuals hit Rihanna's Vevo Account
Apparently a fan of Star Trek since a little nipper, Rihanna must have thought Christmas had come early when she was asked to record the theme song for the new film, Star Trek Beyond. Entitled Sledgehammer, the Sia-penned track seemed (on paper) an odd replacement for the orchestral score movie trailers usually go for. However, it works really well, being dramatic enough to support the intergalactic visuals.

Sia Explains the Disguises (again) and Belts out "Diamonds" During Late Show Carpool
Late Show carpool time has rolled around again! This time being solicited by James Corden is Aussie singer-songwriter, Sia.
To those who thought the Diva had been using all those wacky disguises to mask lipped notes, be prepared to eat some pie of the humble variety. Sia kills it on the vocal front. James, on the other hand, unfortunately hinders more than he helps, getting in the way of some of the Diva's ad-libs.

[Watch] Sia Outclasses X-Factor Contestants With Impresseive Rendition Of "Alive"
Sia touched down on the UK shores this weekend to sing at the X-Factor semi-finals.
Tackling the Adele co-penned Alive, the Diva gained widespread praise for her performance, which featured her atop a magical box. Part of me wonders if the acclaim was more so for the unique staging than the song or the vocals -which admittedly were spot on. But I suppose, ultimately, it doesn't really matter since the desired effect was achieved. It got err'one talking!

[New Music] Sia - "Bird Set Free"
Sia has released the audio for her new single, Bird Set Free. Y'all ready to soar?
Sounding as unique as ever- particularly in the midrange- Bird Set Free is Sia's moment to tell us why she does what she does: "I sing for love, I sing for me, I shout it out like a bird set free". It's a defiant statement of a track that undeniably shares similarities with 1000 Forms of Fear's Eye Of The Needle.

FKA Twigs Covers Sia's Elastic Heart @ Live Lounge
FKA Twigs' catalouge has been on heavy rotation again since her latest EP M3LL155X dropped last month.
With such a sonically cohesive sound, I was intrigued to hear how she'd handle the distinctly pop sounding Elastic Heart, which she chose to cover for Radio 1's Live Lounge. No surprise, she ably pulled the song into her world with spacious, brooding production, delicate vocals and a little bit of performance art. Basically, she FKA Twigs-ed it.
Anyone expecting a karaoke rendition, look elsewhere. This one ain't for you. Maybe try Ella Eyre's take.

[New Music] Sia Adds Dark Twist to "California Dreamin" Cover
The Mamas and The Papas' California Dreamin' is up there as one my favourite songs EVAH.
Hearing that Sia was going to be covering the iconic track for the movie San Andreas was thus an exciting prospect! Well the full track has hit the webz and I'm (on first listen) undecided on the result.

[Watch] Sia Swings From The "Chandelier" with 2015 Grammy Performance
Sia brought a variation of her Chandelier routine to this year's Grammy Awards.Still facing away from the crowd, and with Maddie Ziegler in tow, a change was introduced via the addition of a third dancer, Kristen Wiig...and a shiny new set blonde wigs.
As a majority have probably already seen the original routine for the song, both in its official video format and performed live at various places, it was a smart move from Sia to embellish upon that (very solid) foundation come the Grammys. After all, this is the generation of novelty. So to have not added something new would have had the masses sighing and saying "not this again", instead of focusing on the performance at hand. (Trust me, if Pink can suffer that line of stupidity for her repeated, impressively athletic live renditions of Try, it could happen to Sia.)

Is Sia Trying To Court Controversy With "Elastic Heart" Visuals?
Sia isn't done with last year's 1000 Forms of Fear- like I worried she was- having just released the visuals for its next single, Elastic Heart .
Undoubtedly a great song, it being picked as single number three does seem like an odd choice though. Already having been "released"- albeit featuring the The Weeknd- as a single to promote a Hunger Games Soundtrack back in 2013, one has to wonder if re-releasing it could ultimately impact sales.

Divas Rule YouTube's Most Peeped Music Videos of 2014
The top ten most viewed YouTube music videos of 2014 has been released by the internet giant. On the list there are a few surprises -namely Enrique Iglesias and Sia- but it'll come as no real shock that all the visuals were for pretty big chart hits.
The real good news though, 8 out of the 10 entries are female singers! Divas getting money!

Jessie J and Jennifer Hudson Join Forces On Sia's "Titanium"
Jessie J and Jennifer Hudson are two Divas I'vr never thought of sharing a stage together. No reason why, it's just not a pairing that has ever come to my (obviously) unimaginative mind. But that's just what happened At The Concert For Valor, where the two vocal powerhouses duetted on the Sia/David Guetta anthem, Titanium.
But was this a harmonious pairing that successfully demonstrated how two equally talented singers can share one stage? Or did it quickly descend into a cacophony of out of control melisma and crazy belting that shook the very foundations of the National Mall in Washington, D.C?
Watch and find out!

[New Music] Sia Covers Annie's "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile"
An Annie re-remake is coming to the big screens (boooo!) but Queen Sia has recorded a version of one of the musical's numbers, You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, to promote this news (Yaay!).
It's a rendition that cranks the pop dial to max, with a delivery that has the Diva (i think purposely) putting on a childish voice at points. It's all very sugary, but that's understandable since the film is going to be targeted at families and kidlings (i.e not me). It was never going to be a death metal remix, no matter how awesome that would have been, but I think Sia added enough edge to make this take more akin to a bottle of Coca-Cola Life when it could have been straight-up regular ol' Coke. (I'm not sure I'm making sense anymore.)

[Watch] Sia Sings "Elastic Heart" @ Kimmel Live
Jeez Louise, Sia's performances are getting more and more nightmarish as time goes on!
Giving her first (I think) live showing of Elastic Heart on Kimmel live, the Diva brought with her a group of demonic clowns to dance a creepy and disturbing routine for the (probably scared out of their mind) audience. If you don't want to sleep again, take a look at the video.

Sia And New York City Gay Men's Chorus Perform "Chandelier " @ Trailblazers
Another performance of Chandelier you cry! Well hold on a minute! Once again the Diva has brought something new to the table with her staging, calling for another post
Singing at an LGBT shindig for LogoTv, the diva, who was still showing us her back, was joined on stage by the music video's choreographer, Ryan Heffington, and the New York City's Gay Men's chorus. It was a slightly surreal, but entirely enjoyable affair.

Sia Belts Out "Chandelier" Live @ The Ellen Show
Sia took her new single, Chandelier, to the Ellen Show last week, with creepy video dancer in tow.
Well truthfully, I can't actually tell if it's the same girl, but the routine, costume and wig are pretty close to that of the video. (Oh, Ellen confirms it's the same girl at the end. Good thing I watched it again, and to its conclusion the second time!) But whatever, we aren't here for that. We're here to hear Sia belt out those big notes!

[Music Video] Sia Furler: "Chandelier"
Now, the obvious thing to do would have been to have had Sia swinging from the lights whilst getting wasted for the video for Chandelier. But since Miley was straddling a wrecking ball not too long ago, Sia must have decided against that course of action- best for all not to court comparisons. Instead the Diva thought left field was the way to play it and refrained from featuring in the video at all.
What we got as her substitute is a child (Maddie Ziegler, apparently) in a wig and a flesh coloured leotard-thing doing an interpretive dance routine in a grubby looking flat. It's actually a bloody good watch, with some cool gymnasticy moments and odd choreography making for an entertaining few minutes. That is until the end, where it gets a little creepy....

[Vocal Profile] Sia Furler
Vocal Type: Light-Lyric Soprano
Vocal Range: 3 octaves( BB2-Bb6)
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Chameleon-like voice that skirts styles and genres depending on what is required. Sia can deliver a vocal that is "commercial" and mainstream, with her vocal mannerisms toned down- something most prominently heard on her demos. However, her natural style is one that is characterful, emotive and steeped in jazzy inflections unique to her. This individuality is further bolstered by the singer's, at times, slack annunciation and quick vibrato.

[Listen] Sia Returns To Music With “Chandelier"
Sia is one artist that keeps on delivering- even when writing for others! Her latest single, Chandelier, is no exception, being one monster of a track.
Taken from her sixth album- due this year- this lead single doesn't bend to any current trend, sounding distinctly Sia in both its production and vocal.Something I love about the Diva is how unique her voice sounds when stacked into harmonies, and Chandelier carries on this tradition, supporting the main vocal- which contains some rare head notes- beautifully.
I tell you something, I'll be swinging from the chandeliers when this album eventually hits. You just try and stop me!
