Michelle Williams Blesses BBC Gospel Proms With Her Presence

The BBC Proms have added a Gospel night to their annual festivities at the Royal Albert Hall- praise the Lord!

And I'm sure, like all of you, when I think of Gospel music, only one name comes to mind. That's right: Michelle "Destiny's Child" Williams. Having been tirelessly waving the flag for Christian music since Mathew Knowles forced her into the lane so she wouldn't be a danger to his daughter  her release back into the wild post-DC, the Diva has practically become the face of the religion, worldwide.

Michelle Williams Performs "Believe In Me" @ BET Sunday Best

Our favourite member of Destiny's Child, Michelle Williams (as if you didn't know), is still out there promoting her latest Gospel Album. Hallelujah!

BET Sunday Best was honoured by the anointed ones' presence, where the Diva sang Believe In Me. It's not my favourite song from Journey To Freedom, however it did give Michelle a chance to show off those reedy pipes.

Get into it! It might be a slightly dry serving of altar bread, but it's good for your soul.

[Listen] Destiny's Child Regroup for Michelle Williams' "Say Yes"

Yes, you better believe I stay promoting Michelle Williams- even if no one cares!

To get some of you heathens noticing, the Queen has summoned her Destiny's Child backing vocalists to help her out on new song Say Yes. But don't think 'Chelle has jumped ship and gone back to the booty poppin' music of her group in search of a hit.  Nope, this lady stays praising Jesus, re-imagining a Nigerian gospel song for this outing.

The fact that I don't like it means nothing. To paraphrase Anderson Cooper: "This is Michelle Williams' world and we're just living in it"!

[Music Video] Michelle Williams: "Fire"

Bless Michelle Williams. New song Fire- whose video was released today- was just what I needed to hear. It might be a song about God, but that didn't stop me being uplifted by the positive vibe the track brings. (By "vibe" I mean its melody, production, harmonies and Michelle's distinctive pipes- more so than the song's lyrics.)

My frazzled spirits have been lifted.

The simple, but colourful video was also definitely nourishing me, this time visually, looking like a low-budget 1+1. I think no matter what Michelle does, I'm inspired by the hustle. Keep doing you, Tenitra!

Michelle Williams And Her Accountant Remain Unbothered By "Poormichelle" Hashtag

You all know I lurvvvvvvvvvvvvv me some Michelle Williams! But that doesn't mean I'm dead inside. As such, I couldn't help chuckling whilst reading the #poormichelle tag on Twitter today- despite my fondness for Destiny's Child's underdog.

Consisting of being royally dragged various jokes made at the Diva's expense, the hashtag saw tweeters give reasons/ examples of how Michelle had been hard done-by whilst in, and out, of the group that brought her to prominence. It was all very juvenile, but it still amused me.... for about five minutes.

Being active on Twitter, it wasn't unusual to assume Michelle would have seen what was going on- especially when the hashtag began to trend. However, she let us know she knew with one tweet, cutting though all the mess in the process:

[Music Video] Michelle Williams "If We Had You Eyes"

Yes you were waiting for it. Don't lie. The video for Michelle William's gospel hit, If We Had Your Eyes [reviewed here], has hit YouTube. Prepare to be inspired by Michelle's rousing words and the accompanying video, which nicely follows the narrative of the song's gospel-infused lyrics.

Written by Al Sherrod Lambert, Courtney Harrell and produced by Harmony Samuels; the track sees a return to form from the Destiny's Child member, looking and sounding more comfortable than ever.  Secular or not, I'm glad she's back!

[Review] Michelle Williams- "If We Had Your Eyes"

The only Destiny's Child member not selling music with the aide of her sexuality, Ms. Michelle Williams is back! *Yikes, that reads way more bitchy than it was in my head!* I've always had a soft spot for the Gospel favouring Diva and her new single, If We Had Your Eyes, doesn't do anything to harm those affections. They may even have increased them!

Though back on the Gospel tip, after last and secular album Unexpected failed to sell, Michelle's choice to return to her roots doesn't have the smell of failure or a U-turn about it. In fact it sounds as if she's come home, with If We Had Your Eyes ringing a lot more truer than anything found on Unexpected. (I should just say, I actually really liked that album.)

Michelle's voice is stronger than ever too, with it definitely being more commercially viable than at any other point in her career– mostly thanks to the nasal tone being somewhat tempered and her voice thickening. But not only is the vocal suitably impressive, the Harmony Samuels old-school production marries beautifully with its earthy tones and the Gospel message.

It's a promising return from Tenitra (I haven't forgotten who I am writing about, that's her Christian name!), and I look forward to hearing more from the Diva's as yet untitled fourth album– secular or not. Oh and I'm loving the spoken outro, it's giving me Who Is Jill Scott? goodness!

Vocal Battle: Keyshia Cole vs Michelle Williams

As thrilled as I was to see Michelle Williams hit the stage during Beyonce's Super Bowl half-time show, it seems it wasn't a sentiment shared by everyone.

Surprisingly, the most notable criticism came from fellow Rnb Diva Keyshia Cole. Taking to her Twitter account during the half-time show, the Trust And Believe singer posted this gem; "I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my a** up from my daze! She always f***n the groove up." Ouch.

[Watch] Michelle Williams Gets Back To Her Gospel Roots With "Praise Him" At BET

The most interesting voice from Destiny's Child, Michelle Williams, is returning to her Gospel roots after a brief foray into the pop world with her last, and pretty good, album Unexpected in 2008.

Hitting the stage at BET's Bobby Jones Gospel Hour, the Mezzo-soprano gave a spirited rendition of Praise Him in front of a crowd that was clearly feeling her and the Holy Spirit.
