[Rant] Miley Cyrus - Malibu

Damn Miley! Going back from (C)unt to Country I see? Not exactly... We'll get to that in a minute... How is Malibu? Great! Sultry vocals, an indie/alternative flare and very, very good lyrics? The song just made me feel good... But, in my Big Freedia voice, "What happened... In that Billboard interview?"


Before I state what's on my mind about her, I've been her biggest fan since she was Hannah Montana however many years ago... And this is coming from a hurt fan!

The exact quote in mind that I wanted to address was:

Baby... You could have chosen to work with Kendrick instead of trash rappers like French Montana, Future, ECT... You decided you wanted to hang out with self absorbed and materialistic rappers who rap about such. You knew precisely what you were getting yourself into.

Not only that but what had me scratching my head was the fact that you had the audacity to ridicule rap over the "Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock", ideology when you were on tour riding giant flying dildos, humping and twerking across the stage. That is what got your in the front door, that broke your Hannah Montana image and you know it.

So for you to say and decide you're not a fan of that sound anymore after using it to earn you not only fame, but exponential wealth is such a low way to stoop. You picked trashy rap and many 'images' associated with it because you know trash sells, and sells very well. That's something I don't mind but not at this cost. You now have a whole section of fans blindsided and alienated.

I don't mind change... but don't rob a genre of music of its associated culture because it sells well then abandon it when you think you're over it. It goes to show you were never with the 'rap scene', anyways...
