I would have thought anyone and everyone would jump at the opportunity to collaborate with the glorious Kelly Clarkson. Well, I'm clearly some sort of fool as the Diva has revealed- in an interview with BBC Radio 1- that she's being shut down by potential collaborators when she approaches them. Say What!?
Here's specifically what the Diva had to say on the subject;
I honestly would collaborate with a lot of people, but everyone usually says no...I'm not kidding you. I have legitimately asked several people that I'm not going to call out, and that's cool, but I don't know.
Apparently the Diva has no problem getting her country singing counterparts to hop on the mic with her. It's just those from other genres that unfortunately remain stony to her musical advances;
I can get country artists to sing with me and John Legend! I'm gonna keep John Legend. He's super credible and talented. I feel very good about myself with that one.Source:Yahoo
So why is Kelly being blocked like this? It can't be her attitude. Like she notes herself, "I feel like I'm a very nice person". Could it be that others are intimidated by her powerful pipes; that those asked don't think their voices would mesh well; Or could it be something altogether more sinister? After all, she did call out industry bigwig Clive Davis not too long ago. That's got to have ruffled a few feathers in the very clicky world of entertainment.
What do you lot think the reason is for these snubbings? And while you're at it, who would you love to see the Southern Belle collaborate with, if you could pick anyone? Let me know!
Thoughts?
