I refuse to speak anymore about Lorde until someone tells me what she did with the (reportedly) $21,000 gift bag that performers and presenters receive for taking part in the Grammy Awards.
Did she adhere to the message of her hit Royals- which she sang at the event- and refuse the luxury bag, telling the organisers "That kind of luxe just ain't for us." OR did she grab it with both hands, while drinking Cristal and admiring the diamonds in her rings.
Someone let me know, asap! I MUST KNOW!
She sounds like a little girl reciting a poem. No sense of musicality what so ever. This simple song is out of her capability as a singer.
ReplyDeleteAnd jeez, what's with the spastic head-banging? lol. That threw me off!
LOL. I just... I just can't with her.
ReplyDeleteOh...tell me 'bout it!
ReplyDeleteMy words exactly! I started to laugh when she started to headbang, it looked so weird as you said, did not fit in at all... THANK god she didn't won anything
ReplyDeleteI liked it :) Sure, tay isn't meant to be a singer, but a convincing songwriter and I liked the performance and the song !
ReplyDelete*didn't win
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else noticed how smoky her voice has become? It wasn't like that 2 years ago. Her voice has become more lower set than before, and it's also noteworthy that she hit the low notes pretty well without any larynx-pushing.
ReplyDeleteAlthough she struggled a bit in the second verse and the second chorus, she managed to do the climax justice imo. She belted properly (for a change), I was actually afraid she would have to shout in the bridge. Anyway, the part where she really slayed me was the verse following the bridge, the "Time won't fly" part. She was able to carry its weight and conveyed the required emotion very well imo. Overall, it was an okay performance vocal technique-wise, and a good one if you factor in emotion (which is subjective).
Really!?!? Are you fucking kidding me? Are we correcting spelling now? Stop it.. And never do it again! This is a site for music. Not unnecessary correcting of other people's spelling. There are alot of people here, including myself who has english as a second or third (fifth in my case) language, and we NEVER correct anything, cause we understand what the person wants to say. And that's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteSo please, stop that stupid, childish behavior. Cause all you achieve is looking like a god damn idiot,
I corrected what you said because I assumed you were learning English and I didn't want you going around making the mistake of using "win" in the past tense like that, again.
ReplyDeleteThere are several grammatical and spelling mistakes in this response as well, but seeing as you're obviously emotionally impacted by someone correcting you when you make a mistake, I'll let you be.
P.S I didn't correct your spelling, I corrected your grammar. You may have unintentionally misspelled it, seeing as "o" and "i" are right next to each other, but your spelling error caused a grammatical error.
Oh please, STFU. Why on earth did you feel the need to have correct him? Who cares, seriously? Take that stick out of your ass.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you feel the need to comment aggressively? Are you taking out your rough upbringing on me or something?
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing...
I.
don't.
care.
Now go find a new outlet to channel your aggressions into.
Bitch please, "Tough Upbringing"? LMAO. Try again Sweetheart, that was weak.
ReplyDeleteThere's a difference between the letter "r" and the letter "t", I'd suggest learning it.
ReplyDeleteROFL@ "Take that stick out of your ass." LOL! I like you! =D
ReplyDeleteLOL. So, was that supposed to be your comeback? Once again Bitch, you have failed to intimidate. If you didn't come up in this post, with your sanctimonious ass - trying to shade somebody because of a small grammatical error, we wouldn't be having this discussion. I suggest you place yourself back on that seat from whence you just came...
ReplyDeleteLOL. It's true though... I don't know who the Dumb Hoe thinks he is. SMH.
ReplyDeleteLOL. It's true though, I don't know who he thinks he is.
ReplyDeleteUGH. She always seems to me like she's in need of some good ol' fashioned Dick; every song is the damn same. HANG IT UP. >
ReplyDeleteWell, in a way I understand where Seren comes from. I don't think he was intentionally downing her skill. I believed it was altruistically informative 'cause if English is Bwe's 5th Language (still learning), it would be conducive to be open to suggestion so that it can better his overall grammar so that future mistakes like that can be avoided. Just think, if you walked around with a huge hole in your pants - totally oblivious - revealing things that are best left hidden, wouldn't you want someone to tell you? That's how I see it. Then again, maybe I'm being naïve and he was derisively rectifying bwe. Who knows? All I know is that the expression you used was hilarious..."take that stick out of your ass" though LOL! I'm totally gonna steal that from you haha!
ReplyDeleteNo. I don't think you're being naive but, in my opinion, his comment was unnecessary in this context. I understand where "Bwe" - the commenter who made the grammatical error - was coming from. He was clearly annoyed and then his response to him irritated me and I had to GO IN. Now, it looks as if he wants to go back & forth with me and I'll play along if that's the case... IDGAF. =/
ReplyDeleteIt's the web, I'm not set out to intimidate anyone. Sadly the things you're projecting on to me are just that, your projections, not my intentions. I wish I could say I was half as invested as you are in all of this, but sadly I can't even begin to muster up even the slightest interest. I'd like to continue on as I was, before you came in guns ablaze. Good day to you.
ReplyDeleteBYE.
ReplyDeleteAnd stay seated!!!
Here's the thing, I pointed out their mistake, I never added any malicious commentary, and afterwards stated my intentions. There are plenty of people in this world who won't be nice to them, and will insult and degrade them. Sadly we don't live in a world where "we understand what the person wants to say. And that's all that matters.", people will rip you to shreds and don't care what you wanted to say. I'm an avid language learner and I've been corrected by native plenty of times, I request it, to be frank, and not once have I lashed out at helpful advice from natives who actually know their language.
ReplyDeleteI'm so overly indulged in this...I've no life whatsoever, excuse me lol "Stay seated" though LOL! Did I mention earlier that I like you? haha!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I like you too...
ReplyDeleteThe song she performed doesn't sound similar to 22, I Knew You Were Trouble, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Mean, Love Story, You Belong With Me, Ronan, State of Grace, Holy Ground, Teardrops On My Guitar, Our Song, Tim McGraw, Fifteen, Fearless, Mine, Sparks Fly, or any other song tbh. Is it about heartbreak? Yes. But that doesn't mean it sounds similar to her other songs.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree with you more. When you think about it, it's a natural repercussion. Normally when one reacts negatively to advice or reprimanding, it's reflexive 'cause it serves as their defense mechanism due to them feeling as though they're intellect or pride is being dethroned. It happens. There are those apt to correction & those who aren't. The latter primarily stems from misunderstandings. If they lash out I wouldn't think too much of it, it'd relatively normal especially in today's society.
ReplyDeleteRubbish.
ReplyDeleteStill doesn't sound like a singer's voice to me but Taylor does finally seem to have mastered the art of singing in key etc. No idea what that headbanging was about. Didn't seem to fit at all.
ReplyDeleteI think given her limitations she did very well.
MEHHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteI like Taylor Swift bc her song are simple and fun and easy enough for me to sing along too. But I don't get why she's so evaluated as in the hollywood music world. She isn't that good of a songwriter to excuse her vocals as much as people do.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Im surprised no one posted anything about this yet.

ugh!! you totally stole my moment there...lol. I was about to post this (found it on collegehumor).
ReplyDeletethis has already gone viral. people need to see this...hilarious indeed!
'i still don't have what it takes. i must train harder'. totally shameless pun there! lmao!!
Yawn. Naff excuse for a so-called country singer! Still shocked that she won the People's Choice Award for being a country artist above other much more actual country artists!
