[Watch] MKS Cover Lorde's "Royal" During Accoustic Set @ Reload Sessions

While they're busy (I assume) retooling their first album in over ten years, Mutya Keisha Siobhan are continuing to maintain their public profile via various appearances here, there and everywhere- just not anything mainstream, mind. Their latest showing was an acoustic set filmed for the Reload sessions.

The three songs chosen for the stripped-back extravaganza were a cover of Lorde's Royals (which I admit I'm still not "getting", despite it blowing up over in the States), a Sugababes classic, In The Middle, and a new track titled No Regrets. Needless to say, the trio were on point as soloists and when combining their powers, continuing to demonstrate why they are one of the best vocal harmony groups to come out of the UK.

  2. I have to agree with you on Royals, one of the most overrated songs of 2013, if not the most overrated song.

  3. ahhh these girls warm my heart. Honestly their level of talent truly amazes me. How their live vocals are so pristine completely eludes me.

  5. Me too, I would think that it would take an age to come up with and learn all these harmonies, but they keep coming with new and fresh ones, so maybe it comes easy to them.

  6. I hate Royals. Lorde is like a watered down, flop version of Lana.

  8. I think the thing with Royals is that we American teens like to pretend that we're more unique and esoteric and rebellious than the rest of the people around us and that we discovered an artist before anyone else did or whatever. Royals is essentially the epitome of that, it's got a slightly different sound than what's usually on the charts, and it throws shade at all the pop stars these days and presents itself as this black sheep, even though it's designed with a catchy pop melody and made to hook onto people's ears. No shade at Lorde tho, because she's pretty great.
