[Watch] Celine Dion's Performance of "Loved Me Back To Life" and Interview @ Jimmy Kimmel Live!

celine dion jimmy kimmel 2013 singing

Glad to see Celine Dion isn't resting on her laurels and leaving the success of new single Loved Me Back To Life to chance. The Diva is out promoting- wooo yeah!- and joined American Talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the mid-tempo ballad and chat about various bits and bobs.

The performance itself wasn't as pristine a one as I've come to expect from Celine- note the slight awkward transition to headvoice at 3.04 for example. But I'm just splitting hairs, in reality it was a great rendition that illustrated to people who accuse her of being a serial-lipper that the voice is still present and accounted for. The only thing really lacking was the manic energy she usually comes with- which I felt particularly absent in the belts. Perhaps she was just tired.

Check out the performance of Loved Me Back To Life and her interview with the host (which shows just how down to Earth this megastar still is) below!

Certain parts was a bit off, especially the start. But she got a hold of it. I'm not a fan of Celine so much but she did a decent job.

  2. Now that's live singing and how to deliver! For my money Celine is one of the divas who doesn't disappoint and one doesn't need to make a million excuses for after each performance.

  3. The second part of the interview is hilarious

  4. The Mariah shade. LOL

  5. She seemed a bit tired.

    ReplyDelete
  6. LOL Oh no, that was a shade a several divas. In fact all with the exception of Kelly. ;-)

  7. LOL

Divas devotee trying to sell this as a live performance. So funny. At the middle of the song, she looks a little insegure, because her voice is "playing" in the back, and there's another phrase to sing, She quickly decide witch parte to lip... lol! Shame on U, divas devotee! Shame on you.

  8. WTF is wrong with you?, This performance was certainly HORRIBLE and one of Celine's worst, do you even think she would lip this? If she decided to lip this song she could've used a better version, sorry you are just stupid

  9. This is lip syncing, man. Believe me! When she put out a live performance, I'll be the first to say and prize her (well, maybe not so much)... hehehehe

  10. oh, Celine! #99 on Itunes.

  11. She is so cooky she makes me smile on the inside! :) Really solid performance and thoroughly enjoyable for sure! I am really looking forward to her new album, its shaping up to be an interesting collection!

  12. Performance was definitely live, so I appreciate that, even if it wasn't 100% on point, it was still decent. But she's fucking cocky, but at least she has the career to back it up, she's like that bitchy grandma that you can't help but love. I wasn't feeling Loved Me Back To Life at first, but it's really started to grow on me.

  13. Oh how I love to read such things :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Not seeing the lipping.

Jesus why am I even bothering?

    ReplyDelete
  15. That was a LITTLE off but not bad or unpleasing. The high parts were slightly shouty though, they would have sounded better a little bit headier but it's just me. I really like the song.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nah, we can't talk with Niggas, go and listen Mariah Carey if that's what you want.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh sweetie you unfortunately still don't have facts on your side. Your cackling just serves to call to mind the picture of the sad old witch that is your true self.

  18. I second that...well both comments actually. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  19. She sounds a bit shouty, but I'll take it! At least one diva still has her voice lol.

  20. Mariah, do I care about this hoe? NO!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh, boy! U don't even imagine what this old ugly white ladies (like Celine) do with Niggas when they see one. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Don't through around disabilities to try and give validity to your baseless arguments.

Prove that she lipped. You haven't provided anything. This was a weaker performance of hers. She would lipped to something better than this.

Also don't bother calling me a stan for Celine because I don't even like her.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why are you bringing Mariah into a discussion that isn't even remotely related to her?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I wonder whether Celine will be able to sell her single because while @Luiz has made some very provocative statements he does raise a good point no one is buying (literally) the song, its current number is 125 on Itunes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. She's never been a big single artist. And either way, she's just started promoting it. I'm actually happy because for the first time she has started promoting the single instead of starting promotion shortly before the album comes out. She's almost never did promo for a single.

Needless to say I'd love for her to have a top 10 hit with this, but if that doesn't happen, I say bring on the album :-) all I care about is new music from her.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I never been a fan so I haven't looked at her history of selling singles but after looking at a few of @Luiz comments I notice the single was dropping and fast so I went on Itunes and I searched the list expecting it to be like #90-#100 but it was way down. I highly doubt she will have a top ten hit personally but its interesting that the biggest divas of yesteryear struggle to even be in spitting range of the top 10.
As far as the music go I don't doubt she will have a lot that please her fan base, I just think a lot of artists are going to have to admit to themselves like Elton John they probably won't see the top spots again and just make the music they want, which I hope Celine has (even though her voice annoys me).

  28. And how did Mariah's "Beautiful" do this summer?
I was convinced it was going to be huge but was it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah I looked at that too so many thought, wished, prayed it would be a number one but it stalled very quickly. She was one of the divas I was addressing in above comment.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, I was one of those who thought and wished for that. Love that song, I really do.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Who cares about singles sales, they're overblown. Album sales are waaaaay more important.

    ReplyDelete
  32. ohmygod you are an embarrassment to all lambs and humankind. Please defenestrate yourself- and I encourage you to take the word in its literal capacity.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Talking about yourself?

You forgot 'simply idiotic' as well then ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Why do you think that you, someone that has a weird and decidedly creepy obsession with Mariah Carey, have room to criticize lip-syncing?

Especially when that's all Mariah does nowadays.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am new here so I don't know whether you've been around for long but either way you'll soon find out his comments don't deserve much attention.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Maybe the song with Ney-o can be a big hit. She gave up including "Open arms" as one of the album track. That could be huge either, but maybe she didn't like the comparisons with Mariah.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Beautiful didn't reach the top, but it wasn't a big fat flop neither. EVERYBODY knows that the song is good, it's just another time, another Era. Young people are destroying the music industry.
And, yes, the song wasn't a big hit here in Brasil, where Mariah is like a queen, but Mariah knows she can count on us, cuz what we did with "I wanna know what love is" is still a record to be beaten, even though the single didn't sell around the world. 27 weeks at #1. That's something no other female singer could ever get. Shut up. hoes!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mariah is like a queen here in Brazil?? hahaha You're funny. Have you listened to Brazilian radios recently?

Sometimes I think you live in a big pink bubble where everything is mariah carey and nothing hurts.

  40. You are such a pathetic stan. Go to the reviews DD wrote on Beautiful and performances of that song. My words are still up there. I loved and had high hopes for that song all the time and said so many times.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Totally looking forward to the album too!

    ReplyDelete
  42. u hoe, I didin'r say Mariah's song played all the time. Are you insane?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm not insane, I was just stating the fact she is not a ''queen'' here in Brazil. She doesn't even play on the radio, her golden time was in the 90's and everybody knows it.
You can call me hoe, I assure you I've been called worse in English and Portuguese. You keep trying to offend people and you come to every single post saying the same things over and over again. Then I realise that all you want is everybody's attention.

    Grow up.

  45. This is a live performance: Celine Dion sounding HORRIBLY and struggling. The truth always win:

  47. You say the other performance was lip synched, and this one where she sounds way better would be live. Don't you see how ironic this all sounds ? Pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Haha I have been on for a while though not always consistently. I know a lot of his comments are crazy but he does have some good comments that: make you laugh, gets you think, and make a decent point.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well they help sell the album so most times they are a good indicator of what album sales may be.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah, about as often as Mariah turns in a truly great performance these days. IOW not advisable to hold your breath waiting for that moment. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Not to mention the fact that it most certainly isn't a worse performance than that Mariah singing Hero video he just posted as an example of how "Amaaaazing" she supposedly still is..

    ReplyDelete
  52. Says the sad sod who thinks Mariah's lipping is "live"

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well on the Mariah part considering our different taste and opinions I think I can survive. But he does say mostly crazy things so those moments are admittedly rare.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I rather hearing Mariah on a bad day than watching Celine miming the whole show. Sit down, cheap hoe.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oh good! Then you must be enjoying this. And I also now get why having a bad decade in that case would make you say Mariah is the "Queen". The "Queen" of "bad days".

The cheap hoe would be your momma remember! She's the one charging only 3$. At worst I'd be the customer of the cheap hoe you call mother.
