[Music Video] Haim "The Wire"

Haim's video for The Wire sure does feature a lot of average looking people in it. Not that I'm complaining. In fact, I welcome it! Hit me up next time you want to make a video, ladies!  This has really got nothing to do with anything, other than me whoring myself out, but it was a thought that stayed with me throughout the video, so I thought I'd share. After all "sharing is caring".

Musically, it's another slice of fun indie-pop pie from the trio, with interesting harmonies and varied backing being the stand out features of the track. But if you're anything like me, it'll still leave you pulling out your hair trying to discern what other song(s) it reminds you of- something I've found to be the case with all their releases so far.

However, even with the mania it has stirred within, I still like the tune, and am cautiously looking forward to their September-due début album, Days Are Gone. Ample time to purchase some replacement  hair (!)

Enjoy

  1. Saw them when they supported Florence last December, they were AMAZING and great at working the crowd! Was nice to hear Este and Alana having a verse to themselves in The Wire too.

  2. Is it just me or is this reminiscent of the hook from this, slowed down?

  3. Had the pleasure of seeing these lovely ladies at phoenix park this summer, despite the fact they were the support acts, support acts, support act (yes you read that right haha), you would have thought they were headlining from their unique, captivating energy and peppy, spirit vocal performance! Looking forward to Days are Gone!

  4. I feel bad having kind of ignored this group since their breakthrough, I partly wrote them off as 'boring'. My bad! I have to say I really like this wee ditty! Thanks (yet again) DD for bringing fresh and interesting music into my life, although I might need therapy to cope with the overdosing on music these days! I feel like I should lock myself in a basement and not return for a year hahaha brilliant work!

  9. I just said to Maximus below, that though I've seen them at the Chime For Change concert, I'd really love to seem them when they headline a tour. The concert I saw them at they weren't really appreciated by the crowd.
