[Music Video] Loreen: "We Got The Power"

Are you feeling downtrodden, depressed, or powerless? If you are, do what I've been doing this last month- no, it's nothing filthy- and take a listen to (and have a sing along to) Loreen's We Got The Power! With its inspirational lyrics and chantable chorus, one round of this song, with your fist held high in the air, should leave you reinvigorated and ready to give life one fiery uppercut to the jaw! What have you got to lose? Nothing! So give it a try!

Having only discovered the lovely Loreen after watching her amazingly performance at Eurovision 2013 (check it out at the bottom of this post), I've actually fallen a little bit in love with the Swedish singer. Other songs to give a try- if you liked this one- are My Heart Is Refusing Me and Euphoria (which won her the Eurovision competition in 2012). I'll post them below for you lazy bones who can't be bothered to YouTube!

Enjoy!

  1. Gave it a try...not invigorated at all. More like.... bored with yet another musically and lyrically boring pop song, lacking any subtlety or finesse, about "People Like Us having The Power to be a Hero while our Hearts Go On and we are Beautiful in this Woman's world.

I mean, I like some of those songs but I am also getting bored enough to start thinking what the abundance and popularity of such tunes says about this society and how we are actually feeling. ;-)

  2. I have mixed feelings about this girl. Lyrically, she's OK not to dark not to bright, but nothing substantial. The instrumentation doesn't even complement the lyrics IMHO... Elaborate beat with daintily mundane lyrics? And the MV was not good at all for We got the power....ugh let me listen to her other stuff...she is giving me a rocky first impression.

  3. Such a great artist except I hate the staccato-like notes that she improvises. It's just too much.

  4. I think lyrics wise, we were both going in with high standards due to just having heard Dying Breed. LOL

  5. LMAO, yes. Kimbra got me hooked on good lyrics and she opened my eyes. The Build up is her darkest song but not my favorite, though I still quite like the song. The lyrics were gold, it just left a bit to be desired to vocally....So anticlimactic....but I can relate to this song in so many ways. And I like how she dodged Cliches in a song about a relationship not being able to work.

  6. LOL my favorite song by Kimbra lyrically is Plain Gold Ring, even though it's a cover.

  7. Lol, I like her Sing Sing rendition. None of her renditions have topped that one. She showed out on that one.

She sounds the same in all the songs... LOL. This is boring.

  9. I thought I recognized this lady. I am not overwhelmed with the listening experience, I think she is talented but the songs do little to nothing for me. Unlike me too, I usually like a bit of cheesy Euro-pop....

  11. I actually really like the songs that aren't so dance pop by her. Her voice is actually quite beautiful if people are willing to give her a chance. My favorites are:
