[Music Video] Ke$ha Turns Latina Gangsta In Video For "Crazy Kids"

crazy kids music video still

Yes to Ke$ha! Yes to her new single, Crazy Kids! Yes to the new video and the Latina gangsta look! But NO to the totally unnecessary Will.I.Am rap. NO! NO! NO! NO! ARGHHH!

When I first heard Crazy Kids it wasn't love at first listen- thanks in large part to the whistling! Seriously, when is whistling- not of the Minnie Ripperton variety, but of the average Joe kind- anything other than annoying? (Just because I can't whistle doesn't mean I'm jealous of anyone who can, so put away that Psych -101 textbook!)

But I'm over it, and I love everything about the album version of the song (note: it doesn't feature Mr. Will.I.Am.Everywhere). It's just too bad that they did away with Ke$ha's second verse to fit in Will's rubbishy part because it does affect the natural flow of the song. The omittance of the swears, though understandable, also somewhat dulls the devil-may-care attitude of the lyrics. So moral of the story/paragraph/post/life: listen to the album version after you've checked out the video!

Take a listen to both version of Crazy Kids, below!

  1. Love the song. The video...is alright? haha I dont really have much to say about it. I do dislike the remix very much though. Would be better off without the rap.

  2. I'm starting to hate Will.I.Am....after her ruined 2NE1, I don't know what to say for him anymore. And that shit he called music with Brittany Spears was ridiculous. As of lately, I cringe when I see his name whether it be production or being featured. But seriously, he ruined 2ne1's chances of having a decent american debut with that crap on his channel. Eh....

  3. What an utter waste of....well, just about everything involved in the production of this mindless, meaningless and generic ditty.

  4. I don't think I'm every going to convince you of the genius of ke$ha. Maybe her "deconstructed" material might stand a better chance of having some kind of effect? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfjaytoH6lQ

  5. That makes me nervous for Brit's next album (since he's managing that)...

  6. Yeah, the video wasn't amazing, but it was kooky and less try hard than the last two- IMO.

  7. The genius of Kesha? Kesha may be talented, but she actually needs better material to showcase that talent so that I can actually hear that genius. Crazy Kids is catcy for sure, but she just needs more than catchy songs to be able to show that talent, I mean Dr. Luke could easily be credited for that catchiness and good production. Besides the nasality of her voice can be off-putting sometimes.

  8. well DD i 100% agree with you ! i loved ke$ha's newest album warrior and love this song. the video is fun , she knows she look terrible , she knows the song has no deep meaning and she's having great time in it and i love that. she's just a fun artist, contrary to popular belief she can hold a note and has a nice country twang to her natural singing voice but these songs dont require some whitney style ballad vocal's . but omg will i am please just go home, thats not even rap tbh , the version with juicy j is far better. i wish her album and singles had more impact in the charts as i feel ke$ha of all pop singers these days is the most genuine in her message of not having a message and partying.....if that made any sense.

  9. I didn't mean it literally...lol. But she's smarter than her image and antics leads one to believe. I wouldn't be surprised if she morphs into quite the singer-songwriter as she gets older.

  10. Ugh oh, I'm terrified. I hope he doesn't ruin her. But on a different note CL (the leader of the girl group he crushed the chances of having a solid american debut) released her first solo single and I'm impressed. And you know how hard it is to impress me. You know, it is even a female empowerment song about "bad girls" in society... You know...the girls in society that just came up and are lead with with a brass thumb...and I hate female empowerment songs. But it is called CL "The Baddest Female" on YouTube. I would post a link but my tablet is stupid....eh let me try.

  11. I think she actually has the potential to be that classy, mega-talented and respected singer-songwriter someday too, but she's just wasting that potential on C'mons and Die Youngs.

    THIS is a " genius"????

    All I can say is...

  13. She's 26 now...I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Poor Kesha. She puts out an album FAR superior to Animal and it flops. 260K sold and C'mon became her first song to miss the Top 10. Sad. But what's devastating is that her label said okay to the lyrical crap the Will.I.Am. Spilled out and are sending it to Mainstream radio. The album version is far superior, and that's what should be getting radio spins, not "boobies in my face and now I'm seeing double."

  15. I knew that word would cause issue...lol

  16. NEVER! I'm going to hold it till I suffocate! http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbhskcVJM31qfnxj6o2_250.gif

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hahaha I'd use "wildly inappropriate" myself rather than " cause issue"

But even taken that word out of the equation....I've been obsessing over Anouk the last week or so ( watching the Live DVD at least three times along with assorted other videos and listening to that new album) and I already feel it's a crying shame she isn't much wider known. Pretty sure if she was an American, or even Brit, she'd have all the biggest sellers today shaking in their boots.

To see and know this Ke$ha get way more attention is.....galling.

  18. R.I.P. you will be mourned and missed by many! In spite of that, at times, dubious taste. ;-D

  19. Ke$ha is like raw fish. Some people like it, some people don't. Lot of people are afraid to try it. I happen to love Ke$ha. Who doesn't love a chick who drinks her own piss?! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  20. I definitely think the album version was way better, but it's cute that Ke$ha's doing charity work by letting will.i.am be on the song. I thought Warrior was a fantastic album, but i felt like there weren't a whole lot of "radio friendly" songs that would stick on the charts sadly. Warrior didn't really produce my favorite videos either. I feel like this is just a few missteps in promotion/publicity, because I feel like the album wasn't hyped as much either. I'm rambling and I'm not sure I have a point. I'll finish by saying I still love Ke$ha.

    ReplyDelete
  21. At least have the decency to spell it right, it's Britney Spears.

I hated will.i.am since the beginning of time, btw.

  22. I saw the video of that gif recently!! No Idea what that little Mog was looking for in there, but it was so cute!

  23. Send some my way! (Videos that is!)

  24. LOL Now you asked for it! Such a dangerous suggestion to make when I am in the midst of an obsession.
    I'll sent you a playlist.You can see how far you'll get :)

  25. Hahaha one never knows what cats are thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I prefer cats to dogs. Cats are so much more easier to read. I'm a part time cat psychologist. That cat above obviously smelled tuna and...nevermind...lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well I have both and I don't know whether I can agree with your assessment. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, to be honest, cats are just as easy to read as dog, though they use two different types of body languages. Though, my experience with cats goes back really far. I can't train them like I can train a dog (only basic obedience so far, but I've been practicing), but with cats its like....one has to understand that an over stimulated cat is a cat on the verge of attack. Its a lot to explain though... Gosh I love cats.. I want a peterbald but they are so expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, I AM more a cat person than dog person by nature and from childhood on. Don't care about breeds though. Always had just the naturally selected variety.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well it's pretty good tbh.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well he is only executive producer, he said he will not produce the actual music. He's there for the direction of the album. He and Britney had lunches every week to talk about life and basically her vision to know her better so they could create a very personal album. At first I was worried but finally it seems like something great is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  32. TOTAL cat person. Maybe I'll get a dog when I'm old and need companionship- coz lord knows I'm going to end up alone(!) But right now, I love cats and their " I don't need you, you need me" vibe. They make you work for their love.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well I liked big fat bass...but hated Scream and Shout. so as long as he's not touching the music, I'm okay with that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm actually liking this- usually tend to have a problem with songs I can't understand. Folks from Korean groups really know how to rock choreography, not to mention their fashion is just so effortlessly badass.

    ReplyDelete
  35. She's been around for a couple of years and it still looks like her video budget is that of an unknown artist. It's insane how much potential she has but her label just doesn't seem to care.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You gotta know how to make a cat work for your love. I've always been a fan of the more vocal and dog-like cat breeds like Siamese and a favorite of mine, the savannah. Saddly, since Savannahs arre the largest breed of cat and a portion wild cat, they are illegal here in my state of Georigia...sad right? Such a beautiful animal.

  37. A lot of people are disappointed with the single for some reason. I know the reason. CL's solo career was vastly over hyped as if she was some type of goddess.... Not to mention, it was constantly pushed back, over and over again so that caused for more anxiety. Though, with the aesthetic of the music video, I understand why It was pushed back.

The group itself is supposed to be making a comeback soon too and you have no idea how over hyped that is. I can see disappointment coming from fans everywhere. Basically, when you have your hopes set to such a high standard, all that comes fails to impress. That is particularly why I'm no fan putting all my anticipation into something (dead beat father ROFL) because the end result is disappointment. I could never be more patient...JS.

And yes, the choreography screams BADASS...its like the hand gestures and overall dance style were perfectly sculpted to get that badass effect. I commend Lydia Paek for choreographing this. I honestly didn't know CL could like....dance lol

    ReplyDelete
  38. ROFL THAT(act and video) has absolutely nothing to do with female empowerment.

  39. OMG this comment is long overdue but i just have to say that this is the first time i saw passion in her eyes especially in the bridge, she was probably high or intoxicated but my dear lord she made me look at her, and i was connected with her like we are brothers and sisters, that partying, smoking weed, getting trashed mean to her so much like how great grades mean to me. the emotion was all over her over-engineered voice and facial expression and i felt that! so im going to call her big si$ter now LOL

    ReplyDelete
  40. i don't like cats neither hate them. my family had always kept dogs around us and we never took a chance with cats(probably the reason i don't like 'em). i think dogs are more affectionate and loyal! though they'll chew your couch, homework, or something really important LOL

    ReplyDelete
  41. I personally find that cats are more affectionate. lol But like with dogs it varies with breeds. The larger the cat breed the more affectionate. With dogs its a bit different. If the dog is in the spitz family then those tend to be independent and less affectionate as well as the hound group such as greyhounds and borizois.

My experience with dogs show that they are affectionate but cats just show it in the most interesting way. To get the most out of a cat requires you to go about a different approach than with dogs. It is complicated though so I'll save that explanation. lol

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think how affectionate a dog is also is to a way higher degree dependent on how affectionate it is taught to be.

Cats....tend to be more affectionate, the more uncomfortable someone is with that cat. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. "It is complicated" probably the reason i'll never have cats. i don't like complicated things, well sometimes complication is fine but i prefer simple things so i can understand them properly. i guess that you are right it varies with breeds and dogs show affection in a simple way like my first and sadly, last Labrador. he was very naughty, he chewed our pillows;couch;my homework, he used to lick my face in the morning to wake me up, sometimes he even slept with me and pooped in my room *sigh* but we did a lot of memorable things together and we loved each other like real bestfriends but he's gone now(im literally crying shit i miss him). anyway i think im strong now! i moved on.

    ReplyDelete
  44. somehow i remember garfield with that. it's like a S&M relationship then? the things is what i don't like about cats is that they leave you like a ghost and just comeback without a notice. if that was a real person i will be depressed really hard, that will really break my heart to pieces.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I disagree with Blackrobin on this. Had cats my whole life and cats are actually less complicated then dogs imo.
You simply accept them as they are.

A dog you have to train and train well in order to avoid problems.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, both dogs I had, pulled that on me as well. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yeah I agree. For a dog, you can shape and mold. A cat in a way, shapes in mold you and that is what makes the relationship a bit iffy to many people. I don't have issues with getting a cat to do what I want it to but trying to train one requires extreme patience and deciphering. A cats personality combined with their physiology makes for quite the entertaining subject if you do have the patience. Maybe when i get older, I'll get training cats.

As for dogs, my experience is best with terriers and some bird dogs. I've failed at working with spitz breeds such as Malamutes and tervurens. Those two dogs are a bit independent and really don't thrive off of affection as well as being super intelligent to the point that they lose interest with basic training. One day I'll be able to train them to do extreme tricks not just basic obedience.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I chose the wrong words. Cats aren't as complicated than I lead on. It is more so that a cat requires a different kind of maintenance than a dog. For one, it is quite a bit easier to read dog body language than a cat for many (IDK why honestly, both are easy to read for me). Since cats are small animals, they have an instinctual inclination to shelter many of their feelings, such as fear, uncomfortable and on occasions pain. The same can be said for dogs but to lesser a degree. I mean have you ever walked up to a cat, it is crouching but seems perfectly fine, you pet it then wham...it scratches you?

Well, with a dog in the same situation, a dog would have followed your hand and been growling and then nipped you. The cat, on it's own showed that it wasn't comfortable with your presence in a different way. The first thing it does it tenses up, and also follows your hands. Secondly is pupils broaden and its ears point forward. It is basically more subtle than that of a dog but signs are there.

I'll cover the points of a happy cat and an overstimulated cat.

Happy cats....stereo-typically they per. But the point I want to touch on is that cats, like dogs get bored. To keeps a cat entertained requires them to have exercise. Exercise for a cat basically is have a feather lure or some other cat toy and just letting that cat have a good time. If you can get the cat tired and panting, then that is s a healthy sign. A lot of bored cats get destructive when they have no outlet for boredom. Another thing for a happy cat is to have an elevated post AND a scratching post, preferably in an area where there is a lot of traffic in ones home. What this allows for is socialization in younger cats and security in mature cats. Cats feel secure off the ground or in small tight places.

Last point is overstimulated cats. This happens when you have a cat that you show to much affection too then they do the "catsplosion". When I was younger this used to happen to me a lot. I'd hold a cat incorrectly and insecurely so the poor creature would believe it was going to fall. Then start petting it which would result in an startled cat going full claws out trying to get away. There are quite a few ways to overstimulate a cat (Not catnip...) All stem from being to overly affectionate and the cat gets uncomfortable with the social behaviors being exhibited. The correct way to hold a cat is to support it's rump in one hand and chest in other hand while holding it closely to your chest. It gives them security and a doesn't really overstimulate them, but I still wouldn't recommend holding a cat for long.

Sorry for the epilouge but I have one more thing to say. Never declaw a cat. Basically it is like detaching a human's distal phalanges. Cats have wider arc movement with their entire forelimbs just like humans and use their claws like we use our fingers. When a cat gets declawed it makes them feel inseccure and more defensive (not all cats). Fore-claws are the first line of defense. Without them, cats go straight for teeth and back claws. It also makes them refuse to use the litter box because sand gets into the joints and it hurts.

Edit: lol, I just realized it would be simpler to have stated the behavioral similarities and differences between cats and dogs. LMAO

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's also incredibly nonsensical and egocentric to declaw a cat. Generally..if you have issues with the natural behavior of an animal...don't take it in your house. Get a stuffed toy instead!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh really? wow i can't believe that! that's horrible! maybe you don't have a fence in your house? maybe you don't walk your dogs? maybe they saw a hottie and got excited whatsoever hahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  51. Lol this made me wonder more about cat. and yes i agree that dogs are easier to read! maybe i am not just a cat person cause i wasn't raised like that. i see dog as my knight! you know and im the king hahahaha. it is very independent but still loyal to you and that to me is very important it gives me security like im protected or something which the cat fails to give me. dogs tend to be a higher maintenance than cat and i think that's where you getting at. dogs needs pampering, training, exercise, and more while cat they are just lovable and cute and naughty. i would definitely not say no if i ever have the chance to receive a cat cause im a pet lover and i'll try to take care of it :) and i'll use your advises

    ReplyDelete
  52. I like dogs too. I can't decide which one would have you laughing more. lol

    ReplyDelete
  53. LOL People in city centres don't have fenced houses, especially not those living in first floor apartments. ;-)
I just, because of having cats, had a cat flap she could squeeze through. But she'd always be back in like 20 minutes...when she'd had enough chicken bones.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Tbh like I said, I think they should behave as close as possible to their natural instincts. I don't believe in training dogs much, cats even less.
