Let me count the ways I love you, Pink. Actually, let's not, because ain't no body got time for that!! Bottom line: I adore her! And new single Just Give Me A Reason, taken from latest album The Truth About Love, does nothing to change those affections.
Featuring Nate Ruess- the dude from Fun- on the vocals, and Carey Hart- Pink's husband - in the visuals, the song charts the development of insecurities in a relationship, caused by sleep talking in this case, and the poisonous effect those words have on the pair. I've made it sound pretty lame, but it's actually a compelling lyric, which the unfussy video allows you plenty of opportunity to concentrate on. Well, that is if you don't have a thing for Pink, or her hubby, who spend most of the video less than fully clothed!
You may have noticed that I've refrained from talking about the guy from Fun. Well I'll let you into a little secret: he annoys the bejesus outta me. No clue why. I feel bad about it, I do. But that's just how it is.
Check out, Just Give Me A Reason, below!
Thoughts?
To get the much less interesting bit out of the way first...I hear you on the guy DD. His vocals are okay but he has little manners. Strikes me as a poser from the moment he does the ''fancy'' hand switch of the mic.
ReplyDeleteBut on to the Awesomeness that is Pink. Great song, beautiful expressive video. Using the husband could have gone horrible wrong. But no, it's done with a lot of taste. Giving us a real feel of the love without making one feel like a voyeur or them look like exhibisionists.
And don't know if they're already on your list of the many reasons to love Pink, but here are some quotes I recently added to mine :-)

Totally bizarre but I feel exactly the same way about this man. I dont know if its his gnarly looking face or irritating tone but he just irks me!
ReplyDeleteP!nk on the other hand...perfection!
oh god your right, he is beyond annoying me.....he kinda looks like Kevin bacon with an 80s wham feel...ugh no. i really do like pink but her new material has slipped under my radar recently which is sad but i blame lana and her abundance of unrealised material thats clogging my iphone
ReplyDeleteI happen to like Nate Reuss. I love his voice, it's great in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteAfter listening to it a second time i get what everyone else saying their voices don't mesh well
ReplyDeleteWho's ''everybody'' ?
ReplyDeleteFar as I can see, only Stuey has a dislike for his tone.
I think musically he did fine. But I agree with DD that as a person( for as far as I can see from this vide)he ....annoys.
I was saying less so of the people of the blog more the people I was talking to I still like his voice and his vibe but I don't think I like the mix between him and P!nk
ReplyDeleteAha. I was wondering already. :-)
ReplyDeletehaha I can see why people might not like his vibe he does seems kinda spastic and wierd
ReplyDeleteSpastic and weird are not the issue for me. Those in and by themselves are not annoying. :-) :-)
ReplyDeleteBut when they're meshed together with his face - obviously a result of a plastic surgery procedure done in order to imitate the Whos from "The Grinch"- and his whiny voice, it becomes annoying, right? Right?
ReplyDeleteHaha I never noticed but he does look like a who
ReplyDeleteLol his face doesn't help in relieving the annoyance factor. Though I have no idea who the ''who's'' are.
ReplyDeleteBut again...I have no gripe with his voice. I like this duet vocally.
Here's a lovely picture, Opie :D
