You guys know I love trash, but even I'm having a hard time getting into Britney Spear's collaboration with Black Eyed Peas front man, Will.I.Am.
The track, which is doing shockingly well on Itunes, is entitled Scream and Shout - both things I did when I first heard this wasted opportunity of a team-up (Big Fat Bass, anyone?)- and unsurprisingly it features that 80's blended, electro-club sound that Will has been pushing since 2009's The E.N.D album.
The video for Scream and Shout is kind of cool, but mainly because of Britney's icy performance- seriously, someone needs to check her pulse. Though clearly still on auto-pilot (the dead eyes are a giveaway), it's amazing how she still manages to work the camera (from the face down) like a seasoned professional, pulling some great shapes and ultimately stealing the show; all despite being barely in control of her mental faculties.
Also, am I the only one who still gets goosebumps whenever I hear "It's Britney, B***h"? That line has become iconic!
(Disclaimer: I'm sure it'll only take hearing Scream and Shout in a club for me to do a 360 and fall in love with it, but the creepy English accent and the stale sound isn't doing anything for me just yet.)
