Alexandra Burke performs "Elephant" Live.

Alexandra Burke has stepped up the promotion for new single Elephant [review] this past week: hitting That Grape Juice's Youtube channel for an acoustic version of the song, which she then followed with a bigger production on prime time television show, "Lets dance".

Alexandra can perform, as the latter showed, but what's the point if it's at the expense of the soulful and beguiling voice demonstrated in the former, acoustic rendition. If Alexandra wants to go down the dance route, I'm cool with that, but she needs to find a way to mesh it with her abilities as a vocalist better.

As you can probably tell Elephant still hasn't grown on me, but I'm really interested as to how the general public will receive it when released on March 11th.
