Adam Lopez covers Mariah Carey's "Emotions"

It is possible for a man to sing as high as Mariah Carey does, and to access the whistle Register? Yes. Yes it is, and Australian Adam Lopez- who holds the record for the widest range- proves it as he effortlessly sings Mariah Carey's Emotions.Look out for the doppelgänger playing the Piano!

  1. Oh! If someone were Mr. Adam Lopez the Spanish-Australian singer, what will we ask for it? I hope the male singers (aside from women) have hit the C7+ just like Mr. Lopez. Fighting!

  2. Great job. He's good. Unless he has an identical twin, that is him playing the piano. He must have used a computer program to do this. I've seen it before and want to know what it is so I can purchase it.

  3. Ugly noise on that whistle register - sounds like it's more breath than note - Mr. Lopez needs to work on his resonance. And his pitching is a bit off in places. Nice try.

  4. I'd just LOVE to see you do better. Not to mention his tone on the whistles is better than Mariah's in some performances, given that you can actually tell it's a fucking note and not a whisper. Also, it's LIVE. I've yet to hear ANYONE be perfectly on-pitch during an entire song when singing live.

  5. He's my singing teacher!!! Haha! Or used to be, when I was in school, and hopefully will be when I get home from my travels.

FYI, his whistles are crystal clear, he was ill here. The only person who has ever had a better whistle register is Minnie Ripperton. Adam's whistle is reached through proper technique, not through adducted nodules, like Mariah's, I know she can't help that, but her whistles are much worse than his.

  6. Oh and he can sing far higher than Mariah can :) and Georgia Brown's top note was disputed as there was no real proof, so he also currently holds the guiness world record for highest note hit by a male or female. His Eb8 is crazy. He might have even gone higher since then..

  7. Not been paying much attention then? ;)

  8. Niccola Sedda has gone over an octave and a half higher than Adam, but Adam holds the record even though there are several people that have shown the ability to go higher. He's just the only one to actually audition for the record.

  9. Tone like many things in life is completely subjective, what you find pleasant another person may find atrocious and so on and son on.
And you have yet to hear anyone be perfectly on-pitch during an entire song when singing live? I'm guessing you've never heard of opera, and if you have and are just referring to the popular music world you haven't searched hard enough because they aren't that hard to find.

  10. Oh and resonance..? To remove breathiness you need vocal cord closure, and support, it's not placement based. So working on resonance isn't really what he would be striving for, in that case.

  11. Is it just me or should the whistle register be left for use by women only?? I just feel it for me personally it sounds a bit wrong for a dude to be singing such squeaky high notes.... :s at least he has a better voice than that Georgia Brown or whatever her name is, she is terrible lol

  12. I think that if it sounds more connected to the head voice then it sounds more natural. When one jumps from the third octave to the sixth or whatever it just sounds a bit misplaced.
